The Robinson Gardens was the dream home and gardens of Harry and Virginia Robinson. Now operated by the County of Los Angeles, Virginia Robinson Gardens is a beautiful representation of an early twentieth century estate. The house was built in 1911 and sits amid a six-acre garden oasis located in the heart of Beverly Hills. One of the first homes in the area, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Mrs. Robinson’s historic home will be decorated by remarkable floral and room designers expressing this year’s theme “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”. Yves Delorme linens will grace the guest bedroom and bath.

2008 Designer Show House – Historic Lane Estate
Nissequogue, NY (Central Suffolk County on the North Shore of Long Island)
May 31–June 29, 2008

Built in 1860 as a two story Shingle Style Victorian for William Matheson, the house was later owned by Albert A. Stewart, a director and stockholder in the Barnum & Bailey Circus and friend of New York City Mayor William Gaynor. Mr. Stewart was a passenger aboard the Titanic, where he met his untimely fate.
In 1914, James W. Lane, owner of J.H. Lane and Co., an important cotton merchandising firm in New York, purchased the property and had the main house moved back from the water and up the hill to avoid high winds from the sound. Under the direction of Arthur Little, an architect from Boston, the exterior of the house was transformed into a Greek Revival. Elsie de Wolfe—the first lady of interior decoration—undertook the revamping of the interior.
