Inspirations abound in this new collection, leading the senses from the beautiful regions of France to an Indonesian paradise, from the ornate baroque of the Rialto in Venice to an urban atmosphere of décor where attention to detail is all. Fifteen new patterns for bed and bath span three design sensibilities …
LAVANDE: Fresh as a morning in Provence, slender lavender flowers sway against a crisp white ground; white-on-white butterflies hover almost imperceptibly, and picot stitching adds a delicate touch. The duvet cover and shams reverse to a smaller lavender motif. A coordinating boutis quilt features the flowers on one side and a fashionable lavender polka dot on the other. Matching towels are embroidered with lavender and trimmed with lavender bias binding along scalloped edges.
DOTS: Ecru polka dots adorn a soft lavender background that darkens to deep lavender on the reverse of the duvet cover and shams. On a second version, a dusty pink background reverses to soft green. Both the color of the dots and the addition of ecru piping lend a touch of tailored sophistication to charming motif. Boutis quilts are available in both colorways. Terry towels and robes in green, pink, or blue have dobby borders woven with dots.
JOUR: Timeless, classic, romantic—all apply to this traditional 400-thread-count white bedding beautifully embellished with three rows of elaborate hemstitching. Coordinating white towels have crocheted borders and insets.
TREFLES: A design that is literally in clover, with pink flowers and green trefoils on a pure white field, edged with white crocheted trim. Outline sketches of clover provide an interesting echo. The primary pattern reverses to small green shamrocks on the duvet cover and shams.
LUZERNE: Clover appears again, this time beautifully embroidered on 400-thread-count percale and surrounded by double rows of jour echelle hemstitching. For the bath, choose white terry towels
embroidered with pink clover, or pink or green honeycomb towels embroidered with a green four-leaf clover.
CHANCE: This lighthearted pattern is strewn with jaunty trefoils in blue, green, pink, or yellow on a white background. Scalloped edges match the shamrock color.
HALMAHERA: Colorful cockatoos perch amid flowers and foliage against a wallpaper of white plumes on turquoise. Named for an island in Indonesia, this mix of tropical palette and more formal background has an air of the colonial. The design, which substitutes white for turquoise on the reverse, uses 15 color screens for incredible vibrancy; turquoise and lime braided piping adds to the overall richness. Bright Jacquard-woven towels in lime or pink pick up the outline of the pattern; each colorway features a fuchsia and raspberry border. Accessories include an embroidered silk throw and a selection of silk pillows.
TRIO: A trio of stripes—lime, turquoise, pink—are set widely apart on a white background. The fitted sheet is solid turquoise, as is the reverse of the duvet cover and shams. Turquoise piping provides a frame for this sherbet confection. Terry towels repeat the theme with jacquard-woven stripes on white. A trio of tasselled silk pillows that reverse to white from lime, turquoise, or pink look equally fetching with Halmahera bedding.
PASSIFLORE: Inspired by a piece of floral china, this 310-thread-count sateen uses 12 color screens for an airy yet formal design of pink flowers and blue coral. The bedding is finished in graceful wide scallops, which repeat more intricately on the matching boutis quilt. White terry towels with embroidered flowers reverse to sunflower yellow.
MARAIS: As sumptuous as the Parisian neighborhood whose name it bears, Marais pairs an ornamental damask-style motif in regal plum with lush iris blossoms on an eggshell background. Thirteen color screens ensure the lifelike quality of the flowers on 310-thread-count sateen. Plum terry towels are woven tone-on-tone with the ornamental design and have an intricate dobby border. An embroidered iris at the corner adds a finishing touch.
SERAIL: This traditional indienne print with a paisley motif is richly colored in shades of
chocolate, paprika, and fawn. Woven piping in brown anchors the whole design, which is
ideal for masculine or contemporary decors. Jacquard-woven terry towels echo the elaborate design.
INDIGO: A dramatic Indonesian-style design of inky blue on an ecru ground is coupled with an open design of patterned dots. Decorative buttons connect the secondary pattern to the primary where it wraps around to the front of the duvet cover and shams. Stunning towels are jacquard-woven with ecru on navy in a negative of the primary design.
MALO: Named for a walled port city in Brittany, this utterly simple design in navy and white features Jacquard-woven pinstripes in 310-thread-count sateen; stripes are more narrowly spaced on the reverse. Vermillion piping adds punch. Coordinating towel options include natural terry with navy roping on the dobby and a red bias edge, or red terry with a triple navy rope trim.
RIALTO: Venetian-inspired embroidery in ecru and ivory on ecru sateen makes a design as beautiful as the bridge for which it is named. Soft fawn-colored towels are embroidered with the same motif.
TAMARA: Named for Tamara de Lempicka, one of the most famous painters of the art deco period, this sophisticated Jacquard-woven sateen with a traditional damask motif gets juiced up in plum and mandarin, a color-pairing inspired by passionfruit. Coordinating bath linens feature plum embroidery on a mandarin cotton/modal towel.
